Jessica Flowers
Jessica loves to share gentle and accessible yoga practices with individuals in the Madison area. She teaches weekly YAFA Yoga classes at Bayview Foundation Community Center and Middleton Senior Center. You can also find her teaching at Princeton Club and Perennial Yoga. She is excited to expand sharing these practices online and truly believes in making yoga accessible for all individuals.
Jessica is a lifelong learner passionate about health and wellbeing. She has a doctorate degree in Nutritional Sciences and was involved in nutrition research for over 20 years. After pushing herself too far, one too many times as a perfectionist and people pleaser, she found herself exhausted and in pain that lingered throughout 2016. After the gentle practice of Yin yoga restored her, she was inspired to do her first teacher training in Yin yoga in 2018 at Yoga4 Wellness. Since then Jessica has done several other yoga teacher trainings (YTT) including the 200 hr training through Madison area’s Perennial Yoga, 300 hr advanced YTT and 200 hr Tantra YTT virtually with My Vinyasa Practice, and numerous Subtle Yoga(R) ‘brain yoga’ trainings. In addition to being registered at the 500 hr level through Yoga Alliance, Jessica has certifications in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and Adaptive Yoga. She uses a combination of techniques learned through her explorations of yoga, qigong, fascia, and embodiment practices to create a variety of unique classes.
